Steve French is a Senior Engineer, responsible for Linux File System Architecture, in IBM’s Linux Technology Center.    He has been a member of the Samba team for 10 years, and wrote his first file system 20 years ago, and wrote his first file system for Linux (the cifs module, still used all over the world for accessing Windows, NAS appliances and Samba)  in 2002 and still contributes regularly to Linux kernel file systems.  He regularly speaks at technical events on Samba, cifs and Linux File Systems.
